New federal Pulse lawsuit filed against Facebook, Twitter, and Google

ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A new lawsuit was filed in federal court today on behalf of 16 Pulse survivors.

The 16 Pulse survivors are suing Twitter, Google, and Facebook under the Anti-Terrorism Act. The suit claims that the social media networks and search engine aided, abetted, and knowingly provided support and resource to ISIS and Omar Mateen before he carried out the deadly attack the Pulse Nightclub in 2016.

The suit also claims that without the three websites, ISIS would not have been able to grow and fuel terrorist activity. The suit claims as well that the companies refused to actively monitor networks to block ISIS of their services.

This lawsuit is similar to one that was dismissed in court last week. That one was filed by the families of some of the late survivors. However, the judge in that case found no legal merit.
