NASA helps lift subcontractor's marriage proposal

When Ryan Lowe was 16 years old, he was too nervous to ask then-14-year-old Lindsey Christman to the prom, so his buddy asked for him while the two were inside the gymnasium at Astronaut High School.

"I saw her her head shake, and her lips say 'No, not him,'" Ryan said with a laugh. "So, it kind of busted my self esteem a little bit."

"Well, I was kind of mean in high school," said Lindsey. "So I blew him off."

But Ryan persistently pursued Lindsey until he finally won her over. And after eight years together, the NASA-subcontracted electrician decided it was time to come up with a better way to pop the next big question he wanted to ask her, "Would she marry him?"

"I finally came up with something I thought she deserved," he said proudly.  "And something big, that no one has ever done before."

Watch the video to see the unique idea Ryan came up with, and the reason Lindsey did not say "Yes."
