5 bicyclists dead, 4 injured in Kalamazoo County hit and run

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WJBK) - Multiple people have been killed after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening in Kalamazoo County, reports FOX 17 West Michigan.

Several of the victims are children. Nine people were either severely injured or killed in the crash which appears to be a hit and run.   Many of the victims were riding bicycles at the time of the crash.

According to Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department Undersheriff Paul Matyas, the crash happened just before 7 p.m. in the 5500 block of N. Westnedge Avenue.

It is unclear if the driver was arrested at this time.
