'Pastor Protection' bill moving forward in state senate

State lawmakers are moving forward on legislation that would allow religious groups to turn away same-sex couples who want to marry.

The Senate Judiciary Committee approved the measure which would protect churches and clergy from possible lawsuits.

Opponents argue that the bill is redundant because the U.S. Constitution already protects religious rights.

The House Committee has yet to agree to hear the bill and  will consider taking it up the proposed legislation Thursday.
