BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - A photo of a man getting out his vehicle and standing in the rain out of respect for a funeral procession in Indiana has gone viral.
Joy Wagler was driving in Bloomington when she saw the funeral procession going by.
That's when she said the man in a pickup truck in front of her stopped his vehicle. Despite the rain, the man took off his hat and bowed his head as the procession drove past.
Wagler posted the selfless act to Facebook.
"I have to give a shout out to this guy in Bloomington. I don’t know him, but he is a wonderful example of how we need to act when a funeral procession comes through while we are driving," she wrote. "Not only did he pull over and stop, but he got out of his truck, took his hat off and stood (in the rain) with his hat on his chest and head bowed!"
Wagler says the man deserves to be commended and is an example for all of us.
"He showed so much respect. It was a good reminder to me that we should never be so busy and so much in a hurry that we forget to show compassion and respect for our fellow men!"
