Loose livestock shuts down portion of I-10 in Florida

A portion of Interstate 10 in Walton County, Florida, was shut down Friday morning as authorities corralled livestock which had gotten lose after a semi trailer overturned, authorities with the Walton County Sheriff's Office said. 

One patient was transported by helicopter to a hospital with possibly life-threatening injuries.

The accident happened late Thursday, and according to deputies, the loose cattle caused additional crashes.

Multiple agencies responded, and by late Friday morning, the cows had been collected and the interstate reopened.

The Sheriff's Office tweeted, "incredibly grateful for our community coming together to help following Thursday night's crash. They have been herding/hauling cows all night!"
