Woman shot in Sanford drive-by shooting

Police are searching for the people responsible for a drive-by shooting where one woman was shot in Sanford. 

Just before 2a.m. police responded to the call of shots fired in Anderson Avenue. 

Authorities say a woman was standing in front of a house when a red Pontiac pulled up and the passenger staring firing shots. 

Police say the woman was hit in the right foot. She was transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital. 

Shortly after the shooting, police say the vehicle was located a short distance away. Officers got behind the car and the passenger jumped out and ran off on foot. 

Police left the drive away as they chased after the passenger. 

Police are still looking for him in the area of McCay Blvd and Anderson Avenue. He was last seen wearing a dark hoodie or sweater.
