Volusia County police will not offer protection for clowns terrorizing citizens

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning via Facebook to all creepy clown activity.

The post says that police will not be there to save you if your intended target defends himself or herself. Other penalties may be faced as well.

The post goes on to tell the story of a 11-year-old victim. Reportedly, Deputy Lococo made contact with the victim as he was riding his bicycle north along Howland Boulevard.

The victim told the deputy that he was approaching Pine Ridge High School when a clown jumped out from behind a light pole and bushes. The clown was described as about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing approximately 230 pounds, wearing blue clown hair, rainbow painted face, red foam nose, a green, long-sleeved shirt, black pants, and black boots.

The victim went on to say that the clown jumped out and attempted to grab him, but no physical contact was made. The victim claims to have been fearful the clown was going to get him and out of self defense, he grabbed his metal selfie stick and hit the clown multiple times.

According to the post, the clown did chase the victim for a short distance before tripping and falling. The clown then went back into the bushes and out of sight. The victim did not observe the clown with any weapons.

School officials and the deputy were not able to located the clown in the vicinity of the route.
