Volusia County deputies take kids on a shopping spree

DELTONA, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Some lucky kids got the chance to finish up their holiday shopping with a deputy by their side.

Volusia County deputies hosted their 'Shop with a Deputy' event at a Walmart in Deltona. Families in need received $250 to go on a holiday shopping spree.

Deltona resident Jacqueline Williams says that "having four kids and the economy for us is not so great right now. So, to have this experience and have them do suc ha great thing for us is amazing."

Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood says that this is the first time they have put on this event.
