Volusia County collects 377.2 pounds of drugs during Drug Take-Back Day
VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Volusia County Sheriff's Office collected 377.2 pounds of prescription drugs during Drug Take-Back Day.
Drug Take-Back Day occurred over the weekend on October 28th. The event encouraged individuals, who had left over prescriptions they did not need, to turn in their drugs to local law enforcement agencies all over the United States.
President Donald Trump declared the opioid crisis a nationwide public health emergency. This will allow changes such as expended access to medical services in rural areas.
