Volusia County teachers are gearing up to protest Tuesday morning in a fight for pay raises.
This has been in ongoing battle between the teachers union and the school board for months.
Last year the Volusia County School Board promised a 4% raise for teachers all across the board.
The union wanted that raise to be put in place this year but the school board denied that request.
They pushed it back until next year and then teachers were hit with higher insurance premiums.
Union spokesperson Andrew Spar says the board is not focusing on what is really important.
On the other side, the Volusia County School Board says they are unable to follow through with the raise because of a budget shortfall.
Officials say they are already facing a projected $6 million deficit next year.
