ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Some school kids in Apopka were greeted at the gate to their subdivision on Wednesday by an unwelcome visitor: a 9-foot alligator.
Resident Natasha Smith said a group of children typically get off at the bus stop near the Clear Lake Estates where the large gator was found lurking. Her son is one of them.
At one point in the video, the gator is seen hissing and lunging toward the gate.
Residents believe the gator came from a nearby lake.
A wrangler was called out to the subdivision and the alligator was put down.
