Two people are in custody after leading police on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle, according to police.
Melbourne Police Department officers observed a truck in the area of Eau Gallie and US-1 that was stolen from Cocoa late Monday night.
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the truck fled. Police attempted to deploy stop stick in the area of Lake Washington and US-1, but were not successful either.
Brevard County Sheriff's Tactical Aviation Unit assisted Melbourne Police Department and was able to locate the stolen vehicle as it traveled towards Merritt Island.
Sheriff's Department initiated another traffic stop, which led to the two arrests.
Sharrod Lavelle Strickland, 21, was arrested and charged with grand theft auto, aggravated fleeing, reckless driving, and driving on a suspended license. Nikeyria Je'mya Angelica Williams, 18, was charged with grand theft auto and driving on a suspended license.
