The University of Central Florida is taking steps to prepare students in the event of a shooting on campus.
The university is offering active shooter response training Tuesday.
UCF Emergency Management and the UCF Police Department are teaming up to offer a series of classes to students, faculty and staff.
Officials say the classes will teach students how to think and act quickly in the worse-case scenario using the "run, hide, fight" method.
Five classes will be offered between Tuesday and Wednesday and are free.
