Orange County deputies say two people were killed after a shooting and crash Sunday afternoon.

Investigators have identified the victims as Sylvio Montina, 29, and Darlene Harriell, 32.

“Just a tragic accident, it hit me real hard,” Harriell’s mother, Elizabeth Harriell said while on the scene. “I can’t believe she’s gone.”

Family members say Harriell leaves behind four children.

Deputies say she got pinned under a pick-up truck when it flipped.

They say she may have been trying to get out of the car right before the crash.

Deputies say the truck Harriell was in was involved in a shooting with another car about a block away, near the corner of south Orange Blossom Trail and 23rd Street right before the accident.

“I was lying down in the bed and I heard something like fire crackers, ‘pow, pow, pow, pow, pow,’” said witness Ennis Williams.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office says the gunfire hit a nearby church.

“The church itself does have rounds in it, so the church was hit, but thankfully no one in the church was injured,” said OCSO spokesman Jeff Williamson.

Deputies say Montina was driving the pick-up and was hurt in the shooting.

They say he sped down 23rd Street and hit a parked car.

Investigators say Montina was rushed to the hospital, but also died.

Deputies are now trying to track down the other car involved in the shooting.

They say it could be a blue Sedan or small hatchback that was seen heading west on south Orange Blossom Trail right after the shots were fired.

The motive for the shooting is still unclear, according to Williamson.

Harriell's family is urging anyone with information to call in a tip to Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
