Armed home invasion scares Deltona family

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office reported that they are investigating an armed home invasion that occurred late Sunday in Deltona.

Deputies say that around 10:36 p.m., they responded to Lullwater Street. There, a 34-year-old man said three male suspects forced their way into his home after he answered a knock at the rear door.

Three men knocked on the back door of the home according to the Volusia County Sheriff's office, then barged in when the man who lives there opened it, breaking the back door, locked up his wife and kids, demanded money, then stole all their valuables.

The victim reportedly told deputies that one of the suspects pistol-whipped him on the head and demanded money. The victim's wife and children were ordered into a bedroom. They were unharmed.

Deputies say that the suspects escaped with a TV, jewelry, and cash.

When the thieves were gone the man called for help.

The victim was reportedly treated on scene for an abrasion to his head, but there were no other injuries.

In his  911 call he says, "I was terrified. I was scared for my kids. They harmed me. They hit me."

On Monday, the man told Fox 35 News he was too upset to talk on camera.
