Teen driver hits three kids with her vehicle

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) confirmed that a teen driver hit three kids with her vehicle.

FHP says that they received a call around 9 a.m. that a 17-year-old driving taking her 8-year-old sibling to school lost control of her vehicle, ran up on the curb, and hit a mailbox and three kids that were standing on the sidewalk of the intersection of Osprey Lakes Circle and Grey Owl Run waiting for the school bus to arrive.

FHP says the driver continued to travel without stopping after hitting the children. She dropped her sibling off at school and then returned to the crash scene. On the way back to the scene, she went on to hit a gate.

It's reported that only one of the three were transported to the hospital. The 12-year-old taken is reportedly in stable condition.

Seminole County Public Schools say that they are aware of the incident.

They went on to say that the other two students that were not transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital were released to their parents.

The students went to Lawton Chiles Middle School. Seminole County Schools says that the kids were at a bus stop when they were hit.

Charges are unknown but pending at this point.

Counselors will be at school today in case anyone needs one.
