Swim advisory lifted at 2 areas in Daytona Beach

The Florida Department of Health in Volusia County has lifted a swim advisory in two of three areas of concern in Daytona Beach.

Officials lifted a swim advisory for the International Speedway Boulevard and Silver Beach areas.

An advisory remains in effect for the Main Street area of the beach as of Saturday.

The advisory is a result of recent water sampling conducted as part of the of the Healthy Beaches Program. Advisory signs have been posted. This is a precautionary advisory and not a closure.

A swim advisory means that contact with the water may pose an increased risk of infectious disease based upon Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) criteria, and swimming is not recommended at this time.
