Suspect sought in robbery of Park Ave retailer

- Winter Park police officers are searching for a man who is accused of robbing a Park Avenue retailer.   Authorities say the man walked into Current, a men's clothing store that is located at 128 S. Park Ave., around 2:45 p.m., demanding money.

It is unknown if the man was armed, but employees complied.  "Nobody saw a gun, but he implied he had a weapon," said Winter Park Police Sergeant Frank Cowart.

The suspect, described as a white man with a thin build and standing 6 foot, 2 inches, left with an undisclosed amount of money and headed south on Park Ave.  Police responded a short while later and conducted an extensive search for the suspect in the area of Rollins College.

Police are looking for security camera recordings from stores all along Park Avenue as they try to catch the man who rated the upscale apparel store. The suspect was wearing a gray hoodie and was carrying a backpack. Anyone with information is asked to call the Winter Park Police Department at 407-644-1313.
