SunRail looking at adding fences along route

According to a spokesman for the Florida Depart of Transportation, the agency is looking at adding fencing along the SunRail line in an attempt to keep people out of the path of trains.  The barrier could go up near the spot where a woman was killed Wednesday night when she was hit by an Amtrak train.  The collision happened near the SunRail stop in Altamonte Springs.

FDOT spokesman Steve Olson said Friday the agency expects to put up fencing along a total of four miles of rail road tracks.  The fencing will not run continuously.  “What we're looking at is areas where we're having some issues with people trespassing cutting through from one side of track to the other," Olson said.  He said the agency hasn’t settled yet on where the fencing will go.
