SunPass charges racking up now that the system is up and running

SunPass has started processing millions of toll transactions after the system hasn't been updated for over a month. So, you want to check your account because with the system up and running, it may be running up your bank account.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) says that in four days, the department has posted more than 30 million transactions to accounts. And still, they are playing catch up. The department says they project up to eight million transactions per day until they are all caught up. For those who use SunPas daily, that will leave a dent in your bank account.

The department's system went down for maintenance on June 5th. It was restored but then customers could not access their accounts to pay their bill. So, now about a month's worth of toll charges are hitting accounts and that has people paying extra attention to what's being paid.
