Sumter County Sheriff's Office welcomes new K9

The Sumter County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrival of its newest member to the K9 unit.  Now, they are asking for the public to help name the dog.

The 16-week old male Bloodhound puppy was received from Mayo Correctional Institute.  Over the next 9 to 12 months, he will go through extensive training, learning tracking and scent detection before joining our other Bloodhounds, Dallas and Libby.

The Sheriff's Office has launched a social media campaign on their Facebook page and are asking the public to help name new puppy.  You can leave a comment or suggestion on their Facebook page.  They will take suggestions until Friday, November 10 and will announce the winning name on Wednesday, November 15.
