Summerlin Ave. will reopen to traffic next week

ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A section of Summerlin Avenue in Downtown Orlando remains closed due a  water main break  near the intersection of Concord Street.

The water main break, which happened on Oct. 22, was repaired the same night, but work continues to ensure the soil is dry and properly compacted to handle traffic.

OUC has also determined that the 77 year-old, 20-inch water main which runs underneath Summerlin Avenue between South Street and Marks Street (about 1.5 miles) will be replaced.

Currently, the road is not projected to fully reopen to traffic until next week.
