Student arrested after threatening assistant principal at DeLand High School

A high schooler in Volusia County was arrested after police say he threatened the assistant principal of DeLand High School.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office says that 19-year-old Taqwuan Jones began to threaten the assistant principal after being told he was suspended for a school violation.

He was reportedly heard saying several times that the principal "is lucky he does not hit him." A school resource officer also saw Jones clinch his fist and stand towards the assistant principal while cursing at him.  Eventually, he swung at the assistant principal.

Jones was escorted into the school resource offier's office, where the arrest affidavit says he caused several holes in the wall. He was then placed into handcuffs and arrested.
