ST. CLOUD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - After an 11-year-old boy was killed in a fire last week, officers from the St. Cloud Police Department are working with the community to help his family.
Investigators say the boy’s mother and teenage sisters were able to escape the blaze, but he was trapped. Some members of the department were the first on scene, and tried to save the child.
In addition to the tragic death, the mobile home on Lime Drive was completely destroyed and the family lost all of their belongings.
Officers say donations have been pouring in and the St. Cloud Police Department is a drop-off site. An officer is also in the process of setting up a bank account for donations.
