SpaceX scrubs launch of Falcon 9

For the second time in as many days, SpaceX has scrubbed the planned launch of a rocket at Cape Canaveral.

The company was expected to send a communications satellite into space, atop a Falcon 9 at 6:45 p.m. but after holding for several minutes, and with just one minute, 40 seconds remaining in the countdown, flight controllers called for an "abort." The decision came as liquid oxygen was flowing into the unmanned Falcon 9 rocket.

Wednesday's launch was scrubbed so crews could double-check the temperature of the liquid fuel onboard.  There was no immediate word on when SpaceX might try again.

SpaceX successfully landed the Falcon 9 on land in December at Cape Canaveral.  They will attempt a sea-based rocket landing after this next launch, but the time and date has not been announced. Sea-based landings are considered to be much more difficult.  The last three times SpaceX attempted barge landings all ended in failure.
