OVIEDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Seminole County Sheriff's Office reports that deputies arrested a suspect accused of firing dozens of rounds along a local roadway, striking multiple cars and forcing closure of the road.
They say that just before 11 a.m. on Monday, witness saw shots coming from a vehicle parked at the intersection of Oklahoma Street and County Road 426. Five vehicles nearby were struck. A sign and ornamental statue located at two local businesses were also struck.
Party of County Road 426 were shut down while deputies investigated, says police.
40-year-old Marc Anthony Garcia was reportedly taken into custody at the scene. Another subject believed to be a passenger was not charged.
Police say two handguns were found in the vehicle.
Garcia was also transported to a local hospital to be medically cleared. On Monday evening, police say he was booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility on more than a dozen counts including aggravated assault and firing a deadly missile into a dwelling or vehicle.
