Search for suspects after robbery, pursuit

Altamonte Police say around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, a man was walking behind a restaurant on State Road 436 when four men grabbed him and pulled him into their car.

Witnesses called 911, saying the suspects took the victim's shoes and cell phone. Witnesses say the suspects smashed into several cars, then drove along SR 436 to eastbound Interstate 4.  Police were soon on their tail. Along the way,  investigators say one of the suspects threw a gun out the window, hitting the windshield of another car and smashing it.

The suspects got off on Lake Mary Boulevard and headed east. They crashed just east of Rinehardt Road in the parking lot of an office complex. "He's like passing all the red lights, going into traffic and there's like a lot of cops chasing him," was how one witness, named Tony, described the scene.

Police arrested one of the suspects, but two others took off running. The Seminole County Sheriff's Office helicopter hovered for hours looking for the suspects along Lake Mary Boulevard.  Detectives questioned the victim for several hours, then he left with some friends.

Police say no one was hurt.  They are looking for information on this case. If you have any tips to pass along to investigators, contact the Altamonte Springs Police Department.
