Search continues of deadly hit-and-run on Semoran

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol are searching for the driver of a dark blue Nissan, involved in a deadly hit and run accident on Tuesday evening.  Troopers said the victim was trying to cross Semoran Blvd. by Driggs Dr. when someone hit him and then took off. "He was going to get cigarettes across the street. Then something to eat at Steak and Shake," said Patti McGee, mother-in-law of the victim, 59-year-old Aldo Guida. 

She said the past 24 hours have been difficult.  "Everybody was hysterical. Nobody expected it, it's a shock, everybody's very sad over it."  But she said she is confident FHP will find the driver who is responsible.  Troopers released a picture, similar to the suspect's car. It's a dark blue Nissan Maxima either 2007 or 2008.  "They say they found something off the car too that might have helped them."   Investigators say the Nissan emblem is missing. There's also damage to the front and left front headlight area of the car.

McGee said Guida leaves behind a wife, three children and three grandchildren and added that she will miss his fun-loving personality. "Kind heart, caring, he's always good to me. But a very kind heart."  She's asking anyone who may have seen this accident, at around 9 o'clock on Tuesday night to call investigators. "I just hope they catch him. There's no reason for that. I mean God forbid it happened, but at least if the person stayed, that would have been so much better really all the way around."
