School board gives permission for girl to treat her seizures with CBD oil at school

- A months-long battle concerning medical marijuana is coming to an end for a Volusia County family.

The battle centers around seven-year-old Zoe. Her parents have been pushing to be able to give her CBD oil on her school's campus. Zoe has a disorder causing seizures and CBD oil helps reduce their frequency.

Now, we're learning that the school board has given them the go ahead and is even naming the policy after Zoe. This makes the district one of the three in the state to allow oil in schools. This also prevents Zoe's parents from disrupting her school day and having to take her off campus to give her the oil gummies.

Zoe's parents say they will continue to fight to get CBD oil available on campus for teachers who need it. The policy takes effect on December 1st.
