Report: Florida has too many charter schools operating without enough regulation

Charter schools are under a microscope following a new report.

Watchdog group 'Integrity Florida' says that Florida has too many charter schools operating without enough regulation. Right now, Florida has 650 charter schools with about 350,000 students.

Critics say that charter schools have undercut public schools. The Research Director of Integrity Florida, Ben Wilcox, says that "These schools that should be private schools are accessing public funds. They are giving parents and students more choices, but that choice comes at a cost."

The report says that at least 20 charter schools close ever year due to low enrollment or financial issues.
