Police: Shots randomly fired into home

Winter Springs Police are investigating after shots were randomly fired Tuesday afternoon – hitting someone’s home.

The damage included a busted window and a hole going from one side of the wall to the other.
The homeowner didn’t want to go on camera but says two bullets came flying into his house while he was sitting in the kitchen.

Kevin Malchow, who lives across the street, says he was about to take his dogs out when he heard the shots.

“I open the door, and I hear seven or eight gunshots,” Malchow explained. “And then it was kind of bazaar because we saw the police show up and the helicopter.”

Winter Springs police say the shots came from outside of the subdivision.  Investigators say it looks like someone in a car or truck fired randomly while driving on Fisher Road. The house hit is on Seville Chase Drive, which runs parallel.

“There are some rural properties around here and they’re zoned to shoot – you hear that and that’s normal but coming from that direction, No. Very strange,” Malchow said about the gunfire.

Police say they don’t have any suspect information available yet. They were on both scenes for hours Tuesday evening, collecting evidence to try and find the person who pulled the trigger. Anyone with information is asked to call Winter Springs Police.
