Police seek to reunite medals with owner

WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A piece of history misplaced:  precious badges and medals, including a purple heart. Someone risked their life to earn that honor, but who that someone is remains a mystery. 

Authorities said the framed items were found among other property believed to have been stolen. No one ever came forward to claim the medals, and there's no identifying information on the frame.

It appears the person pictured did a couple tours during the Vietnam War era. Now, the Winter Springs Police Department is hoping to return them to the rightful owner.
