ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - One suspect was shot and injured after getting involved with a shootout with an Orlando Police officer.
The shooting happened at the Rosemont Plaza near Claracona Ocoee Road and Orange Blossom Trail.
Orlando Police Chief John Mina was on scene as well and said that the officer was on patrol in the area on bike when he saw a person looking suspicious.
Police say the officer went to talk to the suspect, but he started shooting at the officer and the officer then returned fire.
Officers say the suspect was later tracked down in a nearby field.
Police say the officer was not injured, but the suspect was taken to the hospital and his injuries are not life-threatening.
