Police looking for 2 women who stole from elderly woman

A 90-year-old Edgewater says she wants others to learn from her story, after she claims she was robbed.

She has just finished shopping at the Edgewater Winn Dixie on Friday morning, when two women walked up to her and said there was a box full of money by her car. She said it wasn't hers.

"I said to her, 'Take it to the police.' She said, 'No, they will keep it for themselves,'" the woman told FOX 35.

That's when the women asked for a ride to a nearby store, where they said they were going to meet their lawyer.  They told her the lawyer needed $6,000, and then it would be ok for the women to split the $100.000 with the victim.

They had her drive to her bank and withdraw the money.  She said she thought it sounded too good to be true.

It was.

"One was sitting in the back seat, one was sitting in the front seat. I just figured what chance do I have?"

Once  one of the women got the money, she walked away.

The victim said, " I feel like a stupid idiot, sat there about 10 to 15 minutes. She was nowhere there, she was nowhere to be found. She just took the money and ran."

Edgewater police officers want the public's help finding the suspects.
