Police investigate shooting near Melbourne hospital
MELBOURNE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Melbourne police officers investigating a shooting near Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. After a husband and wife got into an argument in a nearby parking lot at around 7:30 p.m., the husband shot at his wife but missed, according to authorities. The wife ran away and flagged down ambulance for help.
Police officers were searching for the husband and had both the hospital and nearby Melbourne High School placed on a lockdown. They were still searching for the husband just before 11 p.m. Officers said they searched the area parking lots, but had not located him. Investigators are calling this a domestic. The identity of the shooter was not immediately known.
