Plane turns around and lands after striking bird

An official from the Orlando International Airport (OIA) has confirmed that an airplane had to turn around and land after striking a bird.

A Spirit Airlines airbus reportedly took off from OIA at about 1:36 p.m. The plane gout about a mile out when it hit a bird.

The official says the plane then turned around and landed at 2:03 p.m. Emergency workers were on scene to report the strike.
