PALM COAST, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Two men are in critical condition after a shooting in Flagler County, and now authorities are searching for a woman they are identifying as a "person of interest" in the case.
Bullet holes riddle the house and car on the Palm Soast street where the shooting happened. A neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous, says she saw this coming.
“It really doesn't surprise me at all. Actually, I thought it was going to happen sooner,” she said.
The victims are 21-year-old Michael McRoberts -- a wanted fugitive -- and 18-year-old Tristan George. George suffered two gunshot wounds and was taken to Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach. Almost simultaneously, Florida Hospital Flagler notified deputies that a gunshot victim had been dropped off at their hospital by a woman. That gunshot victim was later identified as McRoberts.
“Anytime you have untrained people starting to shoot in a neighborhood,” said Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly. “There's always a risk of a stray bullet going into a home and hitting somebody innocent.”
Deputies say they found a gun in the house, along with drugs. At this point, they say they don't believe anyone else had a role in the shooting.
The woman who dropped McRoberts off at the hospital left in a Honda Accord, without giving her information to hospital staff. She has been identified as Brooklynn Marino and the vehicle she was driving was located and towed to the Sheriff’s Office for processing.
“This was criminal activity, our community does not need to be concerned, it was a very focused incident at this house and between the parties involved,” Staly explained.
Deputies are actively searching for Marino as a person of interest in this case and need the community’s help in locating her to see if she can provide more information on this case. Marino is believed to be driving a silver 2013 Nissan Altima with Florida Tag IISS74.
