Oviedo High School student invents new misting system

An Oviedo High School student has big plans for the future.  Stone Mangum, a young entrepreneur, is not only an inventor, but also the CEO of his own business.
His company started with a very simple idea of wanting to beat the heat at sporting events with his new misting system.
Mangum invented the "Evercool", a mobile, self-contained, rechargeable misting system.  The idea sparked from a family outing. "About 4 years ago I was at a baseball tournament for my brother Spencer at Disney and it was just crazy hot out there, there were no trees, no shade," Mangum explained.
The Oviedo High School student says his patent pending invention is gaining traction as he has sold more than a dozen so far. "We started selling them in August and at first they were $110 dollars for the canopy version and $80 dollars for the umbrella version." The teen is now working to get his invention in big box stores like Walmart and Amazon.
All of the assembly is done right at home. Mom, his manager and biggest cheerleader, says she is tickled pink and is happy her son is doing this.
Mangum tells us this is only the beginning.  "I also want to develop a drone, which would be a fun endeavor to do. And those are the only things in the pipe line right now."
