Orlando Police officer, sergeant fired after excessive force investigation

An Orlando Police officer and a sergeant have been fired from the department Wednesday after the conclusion of an excessive force investigation.
Officer Peter Delio was captured on camera kneeing arrestee Robert Liese in the stomach as he was trying to sit down in a holding cell in August 2014.
Investigators said he was hit so hard, his spleen burst and he later had to have surgery to get it removed.
The video prompted an investigation by Delio's supervisor.
Sgt. Michael Faulkner was accused of falsifying records.
According to a report OPD released today, Liese asked for medical attention but not receive it for over an hour. On paper, Faulkner said Liese never asked for medical attention.
Faulkner was found to have violated two department regulations -- truthfulness and treatment of prisoners.
Delio was found to have violated the treatment of prisoners regulation. Both Faulkner and Delio were fired Wednesday.
The Orlando Police Department said it takes all allegations of excessive force or police misconduct seriously.
Officer Delio is facing criminal battery charges.
