Orlando officer charged with DUI, leaving crash

- An Orlando Police officer has been relieved of duty following his arrest in Manatee County.

Michael Lemmerman has been stripped of his badge, pending an internal investigation by Orlando Police after Florida Highway Patrol troopers said they spotted Lemmerman swerving all over the road, smelling like booze.

Lemmerman was booked in the Manatee County Jail on April 30.  He was arrested while off-duty in connection with an hit-and-run incident in Bradenton.   According to the report, Lemmerman hit two parked cars and drove away at about 1:30 Saturday morning.

When he was spotted nearby, troopers said he was swerving all over the road. Then, during the traffic stop, troopers said Lemmerman was swaying, disoriented, and refused all field sobriety and blood alcohol testing.

Lemmerman has been with the Orlando Police Department since 2012 and is assigned to midnight patrol.
Lemmerman is charged with DUI and leaving the scene of a crash with property damage.
