Orlando Magic general manager Rob Hennigan dismissed

The Orlando Magic have fired Rob Hennigan as their general manager, after missing the postseason for five straight seasons.  Team CEO Alex Martins confirmed the dismissal during a news conference on Thursday morning.

Matt Lloyd has been announced as the interim general manager and will be a candidate for the position permanently.

Hennigan was named general manager in June of 2012 at the age of 30 and was the youngest general manager in the NBA at the time.  Orlando's record during his tenure was 132-278 (.322), the second worst in the NBA over that span.  The Magic finished this season 29-53.

Lloyd was named the assistant general manager of the Magic in June of 2012.  He came to Orlando after serving the Chicago Bulls as their director of college scouting for 13 years.
