Orlando Health opening ER, medical pavilion to Horizon West in West Orange

Orlando Health will soon open the doors to a  new Orlando Health Emergency Room and Medical Pavilion in the West Orange development known as Horizon West.

The $37 million facility is a two-story, 78,000 sq. ft. freestanding emergency department and medical pavilion. The first floor, which houses the emergency department containing 24 patient beds plus an additional six observation beds, will be the first part of the facility open to patients.

Once complete, the medical office space will feature services that include primary care, family medicine, OB/GYN, general surgery, laboratory, orthopedics, neurology, urology, cardiology, pharmacy, outpatient rehabilitation and a center for health improvement.

The emergency department and medical pavilion is part of a $100-million expansion currently underway to bring much-needed healthcare services to West Orange County. It includes $75 million in funding from the West Orange Healthcare District for the new freestanding emergency department and medical pavilion at Horizon West, a recently opened Cancer Center ($21 million) and a 100-bed skilled nursing facility currently under construction on the Health Central Hospital campus ($24.5 million).

Construction is expected to continue on the medical pavilion’s second floor through January 2019.
