Orlando airport warning travelers what weapons they cannot bring

Some passengers are packing more than just clothes in their luggage. TSA is reminding people this Thursday what to leave at home and to keep guns out of their carry-on luggage, especially as this is a growing problem. Security officials are trying to correct it ahead of the busy Labor Day weekend.

The Orlando International Airport is the 13th busiest airport in the country, but they also rank 7th in people trying to get guns through security checkpoints. And the airport is on their to breaking that record again. So far this year, TSA has stopped 333 guns across the state, with 81 guns being stopped in Orlando. Most of these guns were loaded, reports the TSA.

Anytime a weapon is detected in luggage, the entire screening lot gets shut down, creating delays for travelers trying to get onto their flight.

Officials want to warn guests to not bring guns through security. If you check your gun in, please make sure they are secured properly.
