OPD stepping up patrols after downtown shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Aries Hysa owns EuroCuts in Downtown Orlando.  The barber shop isn't far from the latest shooting that left a man dead.

"You've got all these shootings going on, and it's getting out of hand," the 24-year-old Hysa said.  "It's just a little scary." 

The victim in the shooting, 23-year-Old Richard Burgos, was found dead, having been shot early Sunday morning along Central Avenue, near Orange Avenue.

An Orlando Police Department spokesperson said they know people are concerned about security and have taken steps to ensure safety, with increased presence in the city.  Some of the measures are both visible and not visible, according to OPD.  

"Aside from squad cars or officers in uniform or on bicycles or horses, there will be other resources out there that are less identifiable," a statement sent to FOX 35 read.

"I'm all for it -- security downtown after Pulse and everything -- I feel like it's stepped up a bit," said Cody Ramos, who works at the Pipe and Pouch shop.

Hysa added, "I think it's a great idea. It'll tighten everything  up on the streets."

Police said they want to remind you that if you see something, say something "and we will do something."
