Christmas dinner came a little early for more than 500 families in the Paramore community Tuesday and it was all thanks to some local business owners and the Orlando Police Department.
Christmas dinner was delivered to families in need personally by the men and women of the OPD.
Residents told FOX 35 it's a nice change to see officers in a different light.
Local business man and owner of PCS Title, Dave Hiene says that's what he wanted to do, give back to his community while bridging the gap between the people and OPD.
“if you look at the community as a whole it's been disseminated over the years and it's one of the poorest communities in Orlando and one of the officers today put it the best way: like giving somebody a Christmas dinner it may provide another toy or two for their children under their Christmas tree,” said Hiene.
Hiene and his business partner bought $7,000 dollars' worth of turkeys, stuffing, veggies, and all the fix-in's for 500 families.
Then the Orlando Police officers did their part.
