Officers investigate DeLand shooting that injured 15-year-old girl

The DeLand Police Department says that they are investigating a shooting that injured a 15-year-old girl.

They say that officers responded to Sherwood Drive on Saturday. The girl, identified as Armoni Faizon, was shot possibly multiple times and was transported to the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Faizon is said to have told officers that she was sitting on the back porch of the home when she was shot. She did not provide any further details. 

Detectives are investigating the incident, but the DeLand Police Department says that it may have been accidental. Witnesses at the scene refused to give statements to police about what happened.
