Officer involved shooting in Winter Park

WINTER PARK, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The Winter Park Police Department is currently working an "officer involved shooting" on Mead Avenue near the Mead Botanical Gardens, the agency says.  

Police say that they were called out to a home. They found a man armed with a weapon. Some sort of altercation happened and a weapon was fired, hitting the man.

The suspect has non life-threatening injuries and no police officers were injured in the altercation.  The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has arrived and is conducting an investigation with WPPD.
