Dozens of kittens are available for adoption this weekend in Leesburg, part of the largest graduating class of “Angry Kitten University,” a new socialization program for feral-born kittens.

TNR (trap-neuter-return) Lake County, a division of the local non-profit, L.E.A.S.H., Inc., invites the public to meet the kittens at PetSmart at the Via Port Mall on Saturday, July 16, from 11 a.m.. to 4 p.m.

TNR Lake County program cats are humanely trapped, sterilized, vaccinated against rabies and other diseases, ear-tipped, micro-chipped, and returned to the outdoor homes from which they came.  The goal of trap-neuter-return is community cat population reduction.

Whenever possible, young kittens are removed from the street and enrolled in “Angry Kitten University,” where they “learn to be loved.” Feral kittens who find themselves impounded or surrendered to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services may also be enrolled in the program as an alternative to euthanasia.
