NASCAR, International Speedway Corporation and Daytona International Speedway employees had an early Earth Day celebration, donating and planting trees at Riverfront Park in Daytona Beach.

Approximately 60 employees attended the event, planting 22 live oak trees, 200 dune daisies and 150 marigolds.

The NASCAR Green Clean Air Tree Planting Program, in support with the Arbor Day Foundation and the Virginia Department of Forestry, has planted 402,000 trees across the United States, including areas affected by natural disasters. The program offsets carbon emissions from NASCAR racing for the next 40 years.

This is the seventh year that DIS, ISC and NASCAR employees have planted trees in the Daytona Beach area.
